Mark A. Carpenter, Principal

Mark spent the first 10 years of his career with IBM Corporation developing advanced networking protocols while serving in software engineering, systems architecture and engineering management roles.   Subsequently, as the leader of IBM’s emerging products consumer group, Mark was an early pioneer and advocate in home networking. After moving to Compaq Corporation as director of engineering, Mark’s team ultimately delivered the world’s first home phoneline connected PCs where Mark also led the establishment of the HomePNA. Mark then held several VP/EVP senior executive roles with Tut Systems, the first company to deliver a standards based VDSL telecom multi-service platform and ultimately focus on TelcoTV video head-ends. Mark was then president of Pannaway Technologies.  During this three year period,  Pannaway’s revenues grew from approximately $3M to nearly $30M as Pannaway delivered a pioneering all Ethernet telecom access portfolio of products and completed the acquisition of Telstrat’s network division.  As part of Pannaway’s acquisition by Enablence Technologies,  Mark served as SVP/GM of it’s North America business unit and his organization delivered record breaking revenues.   Mark started Loft44 Group in January 2010 and during this time has assisted several clients while working on new products targeting the power generating marketplace.   Mark holds a BSCS, magna cum laude, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he was the recipient of the Tau Beta Pi senior project award in 1985.
